Indie Couture Magazine Seeks Talented Interns for Fall 2011

INDIE COUTURE MEDIA, publisher of Indie Couture Magazine a fresh look on emerging designers, artists, musicians, photographers and more, is expanding and looking for hard-working, motivated, outgoing, independent college students to fill multiple positions. This unique internship opportunity will provide you the chance to work in the many facets of our publishing company.

We are currently looking for interns in New York City only:

You’ll be responsible for managing our social networking tools, like our blog, Facebook, and Twitter, as well as helping with the development of content from writing to editing and fact checking. You’ll also have the chance to work on your marketing and PR skills as you develop long-term relationships with a variety of businesses in your area to create partnership and collaborations. Assistants will be our on-the-ground networkers, and the face of the company, spreading the Indie Couture Media brand. The assistant will also have the chance to attend various fashion-related city events, as well as taking on the challenge of planning an event yourself.

We are looking for applicants who are already looped into the local fashion, music and art scene, strong writers with a lot of tech savvy, good time management skills, great organization, and attention to detail, and a lot of enthusiasm. Most importantly, applicants should be passionate about fashion, music, style and discovering new emerging talents! Applicants should be comfortable with online and in-person social networking. The assistant will work over the course of 6 months for 10-12 hours a week on their own time and from home, but will be in constant contact with the corporate office, and will on occasion be working one-on-one with out editors.

Responsibilites:
-Tweet daily
-Blog 4-6 times a week
-Create a video once a month
-Push info out via social networking
-Network—you are our on-the-ground, face of the company, go to person!
-Set up meetings with local marketing and PR firms to create relationships for the company and partnerships for their clients
-Plan one event
_Take photographs (must own a DSLR Camera)
-Assist editors with writing, fact checking, editing, and any other tasks that come up during production
-Finding new city-specific fashion and style trends, and writing about it
-New York City specific research projects
-Fashion outreach-—hand out stickers, business cards, and put a name to the face
-Viral marketing on campus

Requirements:
-Check in via phone daily to update on progress
-Weekly email reports
