By now everyone has heard of Esperanza Spalding. The 27 year old bassist/vocalist recently won her first Grammy for Best New Artist, and her buzz has been huge ever since. Esperanza’s diversity shows in her music, as her songs range from upbeat and dance-provoking to slow, smooth love ballads.
As a BERKLEE SCHOOL OF MUSIC graduate, Esperanza takes her classical training, childhood experiences from Oregon, and multi-cultural background to create beautiful, unique music. Perfect for every ipod and occasion, Esperanza’s music is soothing, relaxing, and probably something you’ve never heard before. Esperanza made her debut as a solo artist in 2008, and recently released her third album “CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY“. This piece of art is the product of Esperanza’s collaboration with other talented musicians and is chock full of innovative jazz elements. Throughout “Chamber Music Society” Esperanza’s voice flutters and floats with the grace of a butterfly, while delivering Portuguese lyrics and beautifully composed harmonies. Besides her genius musical capabilities, Esperanza also has a wonderful eye for fashion. She has a gorgeous brown fro that compliments are small frame and innocent eyes. Esperanza’s style can be described as feminine, soft and down to earth.
At the Grammy’s, Esperanza wore a gorgeous mint green tiered dress designed by SELMA KARACA and for her Chamber Music Society cd album and artwork, Esperanza opted for mens-wear inspired, yet glamourous pieces that show her versatility. Esperanza is blazing a trail for natural women musicians, and natural women across the globe. Her style musically and fashion wise is classy, unique and simply beautiful.
